The Stainless Steel Unit for an Engineering Company

Stainless Steel Fabrication for Maximum Resistance and Versatility
At C&C Fabrications, we’re no stranger to interesting and new challenges. When the production manager of an engineering company came to us to request a bespoke unit using stainless steel to fit the specifications of their equipment, we used the full knowledge and expertise of our team to create the perfect solution.
The Challenge
- The client needed a durable and practical solution to cover the exposed floor edges around conveyor chutes.
- The goal was to ensure staff safety by reducing trip hazards and providing secure access for maintenance.
- The material used needed to withstand heavy industrial use while requiring minimal upkeep.
“We knew this project demanded precision and reliability. Every detail had to be spot-on to meet the client’s needs,” said Bryan Lee, Design Engineer at C&C.
The Solution
By working as a team from start to finish and drawing upon everyone’s expertise and knowledge including an Estimator, Drawing Engineer and Stainless-Steel Fabricator, we could provide the bespoke solution the customer was looking for.
For this project, we recommended stainless steel based on its resistance and versatility as the ideal material for the unit.
Why Stainless Steel?
- Corrosion and heat resistance: Stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion and heat, which makes it suitable for use in harsh environments. By being resistant to common exposure to rust and water, stainless steel can be used both indoors and outdoors as well as at different temperature and pressure extremes.
- Lifespan: With a longer lifespan than alternative materials, it reduces the need for replacements and maintenance, creating less down-time for the machine this stainless-steel unit fitted.
- Strength and impact resistance: Stainless steel has a high strength-to-weight ratio, and its structural integrity remains intact, even when exposed to heavy loads. The stainless steel will remain structurally sound even at extreme temperatures, both high and low and when put under strain.
- Versatility: Due to its resistance and strength properties, stainless steel is an incredibly versatile material. Stainless steel can be used across a wide range of applications, in this case it was selected as the unit was to be used within a machine, which has many moving elements and can create high temperatures and corrosive environments.
“From previous experience, stainless steel was the optimal choice for this project. Its strength and resistance provided the confidence in the product’s lifespan for our customer,” added Bryan Lee, Designer Engineer at C&C.
Once the stainless-steel unit had been produced, it was subject to our rigorous internal quality checks to ensure it met our customer’s pre-advised standards, before it reached the customer. This meant we could be sure that the unit was constructed to a high-standard and would leave the customer completely satisfied.
The Result
Our team were able to create a sleek, bespoke stainless-steel unit, which exceeded the expectations of the customer.
We built the unit to the exact specifications within the short, advised timeframe, which could be used without the concern of corrosion, heat damage or impact damage. Instead, the customer had the confidence the unit would require minimal maintenance and monitoring.
We are able to deliver durable, low-maintenance solutions which demonstrates why C&C Fabrications is a trusted name in not only large-scale bespoke metal fabrication but smaller, custom metal fabrication too.
The production manager of the engineering company was thrilled with the end-product, remarking, “the new stainless-steel unit was ideal for the machine we were constructing. It’s compact, strong and exactly what we required.”
