Product Spotlight: Fabricated Planters
It’s a common misconception that the only products manufactured through steel fabrication are industrial structures or workplace solutions such as mezzanine floors and suspended walkways.
However, this isn’t the case. At C&C Fabrications we regularly advise on, design and manufacture products and solutions for a vast range of industries, including different types of street furniture and garden planters.
Over our couple of decades in the steel fabrication industry, we’ve worked with numerous construction companies to produce different sizes, shapes and colours of garden planters.
What are garden planters?
Garden planters are mainly used for landscape projects for clients, ranging from retail parks to schools and colleges.
When clients come to us requiring garden planters, they are usually landscaping a location for aesthetic reasons. Garden planters can act as a focal point in gardens, car parks or many other public spaces. However, they can have numerous other uses, such as acting as a barrier, increasing safety in pedestrianised areas and to house trees and shrubbery as well as plants. We are also seeing an increase in clients wanting to incorporate seating into their garden planters.
Every garden planter we produce is bespoke and can be customised and finished to your exact requirements, which is why for certain clients, we would recommend a site visit. We ensure that we’re providing you with the best service possible by assessing the problem you’re facing and identifying the best solution. A site visit will allow one of our experts to come to your location and advise on what fabrication solution and services you require.
Finishes Available
After the build process is finished, we can apply a range of finishes to your planters to increase durability, stop rusting and add a splash of colour. The team at C&C can recommend the most suitable type of finish for the solution you’re after, including the following:
Powder Coating – Our in-house powder coating facility is capable of finishing any fabricated product with standard RAL or bespoke colours.
Corten Finish – The industrial, ‘lived-in’ look is becoming increasing popular. A Corten finish can provide your garden planter with such a look, as well as weatherproofing to stop rust from forming.
Galvanised Finish – By applying a zinc coating to steel, you can prevent rusting and leave the steel with a consistent looking exterior. The galvanisation process also helps to strengthen the integrity of the steel.
Zintec – Similar to a galvanised finish, Zintec finishing applies a zinc coating to the steel. This protects against corrosion and is mainly used on mild steel products.
Branding
As well as powder coating or finishing off your fabricated planters, we also provide the option of adding your own branding. For clients such as retail parks or schools, we are often asked if their logo can be incorporated into the product somewhere.
We achieve this through laser cutting the shape and text into the steel.
