Types of Steel Fabrication
Steel fabrication is the process of creating steel structures. Techniques such as punching, bending, welding and assembly are used to create distinct products and solutions. Steel fabricated products include racking, staircases, mezzanine floors, shelving solutions and more.
What is the process of punching?
The process of punching in steel fabrication describes a material being cut from a sheet of metal. This is done by shearing, rather than burning or melting metal. This allows for the metal to have clean cut edges, used for latches, brackets and assembly parts.
What is the process of bending?
Bending is the process of contorting metal into an angular shape, achieved by applying pressure on a workpiece. Often this is done by utilising a brake press. The metal is held in place whilst applying pressure to bend it. Other terms for this process in the steel fabrication industry are ‘press braking,’ ‘flanging,’ ‘die bending’ and ‘folding and edging’.
What is the process of welding?
Welding outlines the process of multiple metals fused together by heat or pressure. There are four main methods of welding which are used in steel fabrication, these are:
- Gas Tungsten Arc Welding
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding
- Flux Cored Arc Welding
- Gas Metal Arc Welding
These methods of welding may be implemented to manufacture a product or solution best suited to your individual requirements.
What is the process of assembly?
When two or more weldments are attached with additional parts such as panels or brackets. This could be conducted to build any of the following structures: staircases, racking, edge protection and fall protection. This process can be performed expertly by our team of technicians to create high-quality products for your business.
What are the benefits of steel fabricated solutions?
At C&C Fabrications, we supply pre-built, customised products rather than using the ‘one size fits all’ approach. This meets our customers’ needs repeatedly, as solutions are provided to match individual problems. Specific measurements, materials and aesthetics are just some of the various customisations that we carry out to satisfy our customers’ requirements.
Our priority is to deliver a top-quality service for the right price to our customers. As our metal fabrications are made and delivered to our customers ready for installation, labour expenses and time spent assembling is avoided. Though using extremely durable types of metal, which are resistant to corrosion, moisture-proof and heat-proof, the costs of repair and replacement will certainly be saved.
